Sometimes 321 studios "dvdx copy" screws up splitting a movie by putting in footage from elsewhere in the movie onto the end of disc 1 and usually also onto the start of disc 2.
I can get at the files created by 321 studios (video_ts.ifo, etc) with Ifoedit, that is easy.
I looked at the PGC for the movie in both disc 1 and disc 2. The
extra footage shows up there as extra chapters at the end of disc 1
and at the start of disc 2. Usually, if I play disc 1, the movie
ends where it should and I see the screen "insert disc 2" but then
it keeps playing and the bogus footage plays.
What I would like to be able to do is edit the PGC's to remove
the entire line for each chapter that does not belong there.
Each line looks like this:
[ch 01][pg 01][cell 01]....etc
Disc 2 has one or more bogus lines at the start of the movie pgc, but the lines in the pgc after those are all ok and start with the correct chapter, etc.
I wish ifoedit would let me select a line in a pgc and use the "delete playback" button on it to get rid of it.
I have found a method to get rid of the extra line(s) in the pgc at the end of disc 1 by editing the ifo to reduce the number of chapters
and the number of cells in the pgc(I forgot where that is, but it is in two variables that declare how many chapters and cells are in the pgc). I got lucky, it removed the bogus chapters at the end of the pgc. But I've had no luck getting rid of bogus chapters at the start of the movie pgc for disc 2. I came close, and did get rid of the unwanted chapters at the start of disc 2, but unfortunately, the chapter numbers for the remaining good chapters were screwed up and so if I played the dvd and used the dvd chapter selection menu, it would go to the wrong chapters.
But I hope Derrow or another expert could tell me how to simply delete unwanted lines in PGC's.
Alternatively, is there a way to make the programs or cell(s) pointed to by the bogus lines in the pgc simply not play and effectively be just a NOP or otherwise turn the unwanted lines in the pgc into NOP's?
I tried to add a cell "pre command" to just jump to the proper starting chapter and thus bypass the bad cell(s), but that didn't work. I don't know much about how to do that, but that method might work if I knew how to implement it. If so, please give me a step-by-step example of how to use it.
