Can't find Avisynth dll - v .28.5

I routinely get an error during processing that GKnot cannot find the Avisynth dll. I believe that this is due to a problem in .28.5 on setting the program path. All program paths set but Avisynth, which is always blank, although I browse and set it to be in WINNT\system32.

Has anyone else had this problem? v .28 does not have this problem. I use Win2K.

set the path to the GK root folder.
(I just fixed it, so that it'll be set automatically after install)
but there is no avisynth.dll itself under GK (and it can't produce that error - probably VDubMod does that)

P.S. if you can't set it - delete registry keys for GK (HK_LOCAL_USER/Software/GordianKnot)

I cannot find any registry keys as HK_LOCAL_USER. I find LOCAL_MACHINE but only two keys there. I cannot set the default to the root GK directory either. It takes nothing by typing in or by browsing. It still complains and it won't encode.

Since I am kinda new at this, can you be specific where I can continue?
