I need a -if possible- complete description of the IFO file format as it is used for DVDs. I had a look at http://www.mpucoder.com, however it reads for like a manual file analysis (a really good one) than a file format specification.
So what organisation/company has developed the IFO file format and/or where can I find a full specification?

As far as i know you'll have hard time to find better than mpucoder site simply cause specifications are not public. But, anyhow, if you find please let us know, i'm interested too :)

I'm sorry if it doesn't read like a specification, but that was intentional. The pages are meant to augment other reading material such as DVD Demystified by Jim Taylor and DVD Authoring and Production by Ralph LaBarge. My intent was to be more readable than a .h file, which is all that existed in public before.
From page 205 of DVD Demystified:
"The DVD format specification books are available from the DVD Format and Logo Licensing Corporation (FLLC) only after signing a nondisclosure agreement and after payment of a $5000 fee for the first book, plus $500 for each additional book."
So, as you can see, it will not be available on the web.

What crazy mind invented such a redicolous standart distribution policy?!? I knew that this CSS decryption stuff had some legal obstacles, but IFOs... That doesn't really make sense to me.
However, you are certainly right, that they do try to sell that information and it really does not seem to be obtainable somewhere else.
What do you think is the most complete and restrictive and stable (to malformed IFOs) implementation of this spec?
Are there any efforts running to analyze any implementations that I might take a look at the future?
