View Full Version : Can DVDFab copy WITHOUT splitting main movie?

I wish I had read the DVDFab guide here before registering my copy of DVDFab. According to the guide:

DVDFab tries to put all extras from a movie, and the menus on disc1. Then it fills up disc one with as much from the main movie as possible, and puts the rest of the main movie on disc2.

If the main movie is small enough to fit on a single disc, why can't DVDFab recognize this and split the movie as follows:

Disc 1: Menu & Extras
Disc 2: Complete movie

It's annoying to think that you'll have to swap discs when watching a movie, when in reality you wouldn't have to if the program was smart enough to do this.

Is there a way to do what I mentioned above? Any reason why the program doesn't do it?

you can achieve that....split it as normal with "Copy complete DVD". Only burn disc1.
Then like you said if the movie is small enough to fit on one dvd then use dvdfab to 'copy main movie' and that is your disc2.

I guess that'll work... it would have been nice to have DVDFab do the work and insert the Changegraphic if someone puts Disk 1 in and selects "Play Movie". With your suggestion, if someone was to do that the movie will start playing and then halfway thru you'll get the "Insert Disc 2" graphic, only to have the movie start all over.

Hmmm, now that I think of it... it would be way cool if DVDFab would give you a choice of which content to put on which disk (provided it fits) and then create 2 disks, both with full menus, but with with a "Please insert other disk" graphic for whatever content is not on the current disk.
