I've been having problems using the VCD header trick on my SVCD's to make them play in my standalone player. I'll use the trick, and the video and audio jumps and skips and jitters when I pla yit on my DVD player. So, I came up with an idea. I figured the reason it's skipping is likely because my DVD player can't handle the higher bitrate, so I decided to encode a 480x480 SVCD with a CBR of 1150. However, now TMPGEnc has decided to screw up on me. To test my theory, I'm trying to encode a 60 second XviD clip using different paramaters, and seeing which ones will / won't play in my standalone (if any). However, when I try to encode the file, I end up with a 3 minute SVCD video with no sound. On playback, the video plays up til the last frame of the 60 seconds, then freezes, while the progress bar continues on to about 3 minutes. What the hell is wrong?!
Btw, I'm also using a trial version of TMPGEnc.
Edit: I just remembered, as soon as the conversion completes, TMPGEnc gives me a little error message that says something like "invalid pointer operation". Any help would be greatly appreciated.
