Hi, I recently bought a Iomega Dual DVD recorder (DVD +- RW).
I tried to make some discs and everything is ok.

Now, I tried to create a Video DVD and burning it using NERO 5.5.10.42 on a Verbatim DVD+RW (2,4x).

Ok, let's begin ... at the beginning it showed me a POWER CALIBRATION ERROR (while performing a Quick erase). Then it displayed that there may be a possibility that the data won't be reliable as well.

Ok, let's write ... all ok, at the end of process, system crashes and the only way to go is Power off, and on.

The disc is not readable (by DVD drive and my Standalone Philips DVD 723).

Now I'm triing to erase it back but it seems that the drive have a lot of troubles and every time I start a burn, there's a POWER CALIBRATION ERROR.

What's the problem? Is it the Iomega drive (maybe needs firmware update that I didn't find) or the DVD+RW (that costed 8€)?

Bad News: I really think that it's the DVD recorder that has a problem.

I tested another Verbatim DVD+RW and there's no hope.

Can anybody test it? I've few days for warranty and if something is wrong they will change it for free.

Thanks

EDIT: the drive makes a little noise (Tick, tick) before writing lead in and then appares Power Calibration Error.
