xvid install

ok, this is total newbie, but i need help. i've been using gordian knot to back up my dvd, and someone suggested using xvid instead of divx. my problem is i can d/l the binaries but have no idea how to install the codec. i may just be missing something, but i just can't seem to find it. any help.:confused:

Double click and then press next a couple of times.

sorry, so i have to d/l and install the newset version on gknot, not just the binaries from xvid?

Just get the XviD version you want to use (Latest & greatest would do), and then you have a file named something like this:

XviD-24062003-1.exe

Then just double-click it.

No need to install latest gknot if you don't want to. (or any version of Gknot actually)
