There doesn't seem to be a forum for such an insane problem, so please excuse. I have a DVD, compilation of clips, that I want to transfer to VHS (the place where I'm going will only provide VHS equipment for presentations). The material is from different sources, some DVD some captured VHS. All plays fine on DVD, but when transfered to VHS, Macrovision plays hell with it. Some clips have the green or red bars, some fade in and out. I ran it through an old "video stabilizer," but it had no effect. I ran the files back through IFOedit, using Remove Macrovision, but it almost seemed to make the problem worse. I'm currently trying to run the whole works through DVD-Decrypter and burn again, but I'm not optimistic. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated (I know: bring my own DVD standalone. I may have to do that). THANKS.

Buy a Time Base Corrector. A cheapo model is the Sima Color Corrector available at jandr.com. This removes enough macrovision protection to copy onto vhs recorders such as Jvc or Sony.
