Hello,

I like to make backups of my movies on DVD's. I use the DVD-R media. I have been using Memorex that I found at Best Buy and the cost is 49.99 for a spindle of 25. They burn at 4X and have worked well. I have seen disks online that are about half the price but Im wondering if they are cheap lousy disks?? One of the names Ive seen is Ritek. Can anyone tell me if the Ritek disks are any good or make any suggestions about inexpensive blank dvd media or should I just stay with what Ive been using. Any help is appreciated. Thanks very much.

I get on well with Ritek - my Sony DVD player is fussy about its media and they work just fine.

Nan-ya, Datawrite Classic (Riteks) and e-Proformance have also been good for me, but your mileage may vary.

Try asking your suppliers if they can give you a sample or a small quantity of their media to try out before commiting yourself to any quantity. Most have woken up to the fact that people go back for more if they find a brand that works well.

riteks works well for me too. In fact most media work fine (I use -R by the way). The only brand that I was not very pleased with is Princo.
