Just a short note about a trick I found for my DVD standalone.
Unfortunately, using a 'still' mpg image before the main mpg seems to cause some problems with my player, shifting it out of sync. The source of this problem was confirmed when I tried some sample files from vcdhelp. When I use just the main movie everything is OK.
The workaround I used was to do a short sequence with a dummy audio track lasting about 5 seconds rather than a true 'still'. Takes up more space than a true still but not enough to really worry about and it solved my sync problem. I've only done this manually and I don't use lead in or out stills through DVD2SVCD now. I'm not sure if you can use a sequence straight from DVD2SVCD but it's worth a try.
