DVD backup guide using CCE

Hey All!
Is there a good DVD backup guide using CCE available?

Ive looked in the forum threads but couldnt find anything.

It should cover how to reencode PAL movie only and of course how to keep subtitles.
It doesnt need to cover menus and extras.

You might want to take a look at DVD2DVDR (which is a way of automating CCE + other tools).

If you only want to keep the main-movie with no menus, extras etc... then the DVD2DVD-R method is simplest and quicker for us PAL users.

For a little extra effort you can use this guide that shows how to use the DoIF4U, ReAuthorist, DoCCE4U etc... (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ra-guide.htm) method.

It uses CCE as its encoder as well as some nifty preparation and ReAuthoring utilities that mean even a dummy like me can do it. :)

It shows how to deal with PAL projects, and subs and has the advantage of keeping the original DVD structure 100% intact (by replacing unwanted/deleted items with dummy files). The first 1-2 times doing this method are fairly intense, but once you've cracked it, it's like riding a bike.

Since learning this method I haven't used DVD2DVD-R anymore. For a small amount of extra work I can have an exact copy of the original DVD, minus any space-hogging junk I don't want to keep.

I use both DVDShrink and "Big 3" now.

Im currently running DVD2DVDr as you mentioned debug77.

I will test the DoIF4U, ReAuthorist, DoCCE4U way as soon as I have time.

Hope the result will be good, I believe it will eventhou it may take a couple of tests before I´m done. :)

On titles that it'll work with it works great, but those three tools are still a bit early in development imo to be the "be all and end all".

For instance multiple PGCs are processed individually regardless of whether or not they share the same chapters/video, which increases the size of the video you're working with beyond feasibility for some DVDs.

This can be overcome with IFOUpdate and Maestro, but Maestro has its limitations as well (no multi-angle support for instance).
