Ok from what I gather verbatims are the best media. But there are many kinds of verbatims I guess.

2X MCC 00RG200
2.4X MCC.....001
4X MCC.....002
2X CMC MAG.....
1X MCC 00RW11N9

Does the media code tell who actually manufatured the disks? Which ones are the best?

Also I found these Verbatims could someone tell me which is good to get?Click Me (http://www.bestbuy.com/compare.asp?tp=R&m=488&cat=516&scat=2845&b=0&29=11168018&30=11202440&31=11214045&32=11213803&33=11213805&34=11214054&txtCount=35&x=56&y=13)

Yeah I wouldn't mind knowing myself. I buy the standard Verbatim DVD - spindle from Best Buy. Those read as CMC Mag. I've heard people say that CMC is garbage media or something, but every disc has worked great for me. Also, the DVD + Verbatim spindle from Best Buy doesn't give me any code reading in DVD Decypter. Again, they work fine, I'm mainly concerned about their lifespan.

Where are you getting that Verbatim is the best media?
According to this thread http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51912 Verbatim has started using a pretty bad maker for their DVD -R discs.

You never said what type of media you were looking for.

There is a ton of info here on media quality, but be aware that a good +R company may not be that great for -R. This is because very few actually make their own discs.

For instance I just bought a bunch of TDK branded +R discs at Target (20 for $30) and they are made by Richoh (Makes most of the +R discs, at least at last check).

If you take a few minutes reading up I am certain you will have a much better idea of good media.

BTW on those discs MCC and CMC are the companies that made them.

A quote from the other thread.
CMC MAG (CMC magnetics) is "Cheaply Made Crap"!
