I was inspired by this (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?act=ST&f=10&t=2726&) and I tied to encode Xvid video clips at 6 Kbs. Virtualdub just quit after "Save As". Divx 5 works greatly, but I want do my encodings using Xvid.

hmm... I did these awhile ago when I was bored :/

pure static compressed to 8 kbps mp3 (lame 3.93)
cutoff (http://digitalinsanity.ath.cx/~tab/screwedaudio.mp3)
all frequencies (http://digitalinsanity.ath.cx/~tab/screwedaudio2.mp3)

Attempts to compress Zarxrax's (http://forum.doom9.org/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=3007) doujin addiction (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=14832) amv as much as possible (all are ~20kbps) in:
RA8/RV9 (http://digitalinsanity.ath.cx/~tab/test.rm)
WMA/V 9 (http://digitalinsanity.ath.cx/~tab/wmv.wmv)
XviD and Lame (http://digitalinsanity.ath.cx/~tab/xvidmp3.avi)

And some songs at 12kbps realaudio:
Coldplay - Clocks (http://digitalinsanity.ath.cx/~tab/Coldplay - Clocks_RA_12.ra)
Zebrahead - The Hell That Is My Life (http://digitalinsanity.ath.cx/~tab/Zebrahead - The Hell That Is My Life_RA_12.ra)

No, but I'm afraid that the quality isn't very good using just I-frames.

how could it be any better than all I frames???

i just tried it since i was trying 2x2 myself the other day and that didnt work...your 16x32 doesnt work aswell

from what i read XviD is 1:1 no? So in theory you could do 2x2 right?
