High there,
I've got a strange problem since a lonnnng time ago ..
I've got the latest codecs & softwares for all the Gordian's need.

Example : ( rip of Divine Intervention )
~~~~~~
After a 5% compressibility check, with a maximum of 640*xxx
I've got a compress result of 90% ..
I use the b-frames.
Start the rip ..
.. waiting for about 8 hours ( b-frames slow down my Athlon xp2200+ )
Then I've got a final muxed rip of 600mo .. instead of 705mo !
:confused:
If anybody has an idea, I'm an open-minded guy huhu :D
Actually it has been mentioned somewhere (sorry can't remember the specifics) that whenever you get a compressibility test result of >85% with DivX 5 you run the risk of getting an undersized file.
You can do either of two things to fix it:
1) If the problem is a codec error in quant distribution, run a 3rd pass to fix it
2) If the problem is saturation of the encode, use the usual methods to get the filesize up (=decrease compressibility) : using higher resolution, less filters, no B-frames, etc.
But behond 640*xxx it could give me a bad final size too, right ?:confused:
No it shouldn't. When you increase the resolution you'll decrease the compressibility result to the more accurate range. So there's a greater chance that you'll get the filesize that you want that way. Try to stay <85% and everything should be fine.
I've to take OggMuxer to do this .. strange isn't it ?
GK should take the Ogg .. no ? :p
