How do I fix an Xvid file that in BSplayer says it's too short and in Media Player says something about ClassFactory and not being able to request a certain Class. Everybody speaks warm about Xvid but NOONE seems to know abotu broken Xvid files and how to fix them. and What Xvid codec are you suppose to use? I followed the FAQ and I got a codec built about a Year ago... bad update!

Thank you
/Lars

Encode your own files and you don't have problems like this. Don't download... Again XviD doesn't produce broken files. Do you really think you will get help from here?

I followed the FAQ and I got a codec built about a Year ago... bad update! Just checked and i got latest build.

Thanx for this your first contribution to our forum, Lars. Just three things:

Lurk, read and learn. And you'll have a nice time, here. Doom9's is just absolutely the wrong place to just bust in in order to complain that one can't play back a file of somewhat dubious origin. Sorry.

Uh-oh. I just saw that you've already asked about this, just a couple of days before. Now, you are a newbie here and entitled to some benevolence from my side - but

1) You made a new thread with the same question although that question has been answered in the other thread. Didn't you understand the answer? There is no repairing damaged AVIs (this has got NOTHING to do with the codec) that got corrupted by third parties that aim at sabotaging Kazaa and similar networks. There isn't, isn't, isn't.

2) You have been told before that you should not ask about how to view files that are suspcious of bein illegaly pirated material.

In spite of your newbie status, you are damn close to a strike, now. If your first post would date back from longer than a week ago, I'd give you one. Please read our forum rules, again, and the page about the possible sanctoins, too.

Thread closed. Don't bring that topic up ever again.
