Does anyone know who us the manufacturer of the drive?
Does anyone have experience with it?

I believe this is a rebadged NEC 1100 drive.

Cendyne was/is selling rebadged Pioneer A03's...they seem to be fine. I don't think they make their own stuff though so its hard to say what the quality will be like.
Do you really want DVD+R and not DVD-R ?
