want to know more about matroska

i am not not a newbie to vid editing
so please dont flame me for this
i have read the Q&A for
matroska,and it seems all the webpages are down
i have read all i can,
i know it is a A/V container,
but
-does it work on my computer like lets say i wanted to create a Divx movie and still keep the original dvd menu, can i just put my mouse pointer over the menu area you want to access, is it possible?
-where can i read up on how to do this, there is not alot of documentation on matroska?
