Comparing codecs

Hi, I'd like to compare some codecs for quality and such, can anyone recommend me some tools that will help me do this?

use avscompare (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40675) to load up to 4 video output files ( avisource() ) and compare them
