D2V longer than DVD2AVI states before?

Hi!

I just created a D2V with DVD2AVI (1.76 and later 1.77.3). DVD2AVI says the interlaced NTSC source has a length of 1:40:39 (and this is also the length of the AC3 stream and the MP3 I created with headac3he), but the D2V seems to deliver a length of 1:41:03? What's going on? Anyone with an explanation or a hint?

How did you determine the length of the .d2v, and the AC3 and the MP3? And did you demux the AC3 at the same time that you made the .d2v? Or was it earlier during the decrypting stage, when using SmartRipper or DVDDecryptor? Yeah, I know, that shouldn't matter, but it helps to know all the steps you went through.

If I were trying to get to the bottom of this, I'd open the AC3 and then the MP3 in HeadAC3he to get their lengths (maybe that's what you did), and then the .d2v in GKnot to get its length. But I wouldn't trust an audio player to give me the correct length. The only way I can think of to screw up the .d2v length is by playing around with the "[" and "]" buttons before creating it.

For me, it looks like different durations for video- and
audio-streams. If your final movie is in sync, then I
would not care about that (I had a similar situation and
I only got a few black, silent frames at the end)

DVD2Avi drops up to 5 frames from video during d2v creation. It is normal and I can live with it.

Your difference way beyond this range. If u haven't done something wrong this video probably includes a trailer within, whose audio is n another position.

You're right, strangely there's a small part/trailer in front of the movie. And the audio of this part/trailer only seems to be inside the first (undubbed) audio stream.
