Hi all

Sorry for posting this here but I really need your help and this is the only good place I know :)

I've bought yesterday a laptop with a Firewire (1394) port. Is it possible to set up a local network with my desktop through the Firewire port?
How can I do it? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks everyone.

Howya danigon,
I have a creative Audigy 2 with firewire and set this up recently.
Windows XP and WinMe will have native support. Visit here (http://www.unibrain.com/products/ieee-1394/firenet.htm) for Win98 (Not sure about Win2k)
Also, IP only (Download above for other protocols)

Windows XP automatically assigned a private IP address. Windows Me didn't seem to work correctly until I assigned a static IP address.
All was sweet. Very easy actully.
Just get a firewire->firewire cable (nothing special) and give it a try.

Also, I could't finish without a few MS patches ;)

Good luck.
