since this is your first post, let's be mild. welcome to the forum. :)

first, read this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19566) thoroughly :sly:

then come back and post your log file.

regarding your questions:
3. it often happens that audio extraction does not work like it should. this results in an inadequate audio file, which cannot be muxed properly. bbmpeg will stop during the process
1. see 3.
2. probably you didn't check permanent subtitles. unless you have a dvd-player that supports svcd-subs or cvd-subs (not that many do, however), it's better to use permanent subs

PLEASE read the q&a, faq and the stickies in the forum

Hi there,

@oren72:
Please see this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51096) on how to deal with suspicious AVI files - try it this way and report back if it fails.

@da franksta:
Very nice, to see you still around helping out here. :cool:

Greetz,
Gerti

did you try gerti's link (i.e. the virtualdub thing)?

i looked at your log. at first glance it look okay. testing is necessary to end up with the right image size!
looking closer, i'm missing a couple of hundred MB's worth of audio.

your movie is 2h15min. if madplay would use 44.1kHz with 16-bit output, it would make a file of 1186 MB. AFAIK the sampling resolution is even higher, so the file should probably be bigger. now, converting this PCM file to MP2 (192 kbps as your log states)would make a file of 190 MB. Together we're talking at least 1376 MB. However, "free on drive" goes down from 7498 to 6401, i.e. 1097 MB.
If you ask me, we're missing a substantial amount of data. if someone can correct me, please do. :)

in my experience, audio extraction is not always perfect in avi-s, especially when mp3-vbr audio is used. use virtualdub to resave the avi (perhaps you even need to convert audio to uncompressed) and try again.
if you don't want to wait another 30 hours, you can also demux with nandub, convert audio yourself using besweet, rename converted file to "Encoded_audio_1.mp2" en restore dvd2svcd to restart muxing.

@gerti
thanks, i'll be popping in every now and then. perhaps ddog gave me inspiration ;)

ok,
so i saved the avi file again through VirtualDub.exe and got a 1.93 giga file because of the sound and now i'm encoding it with dvd2svcd
i'll get result in 30-40 hours from now so wait for it...
