Hey guys i'm new to this forum. I am trying to make svcd from two avi's (divx).
BBMpeg gets stuck at 42% and CPU usage jumps to 100%.
I am using DVD2SVCD 1.1.3 build 2, TMPGEnc 2.58.44.152 / CCE 2.66, ECLCCE 1.5, Divx 5 codec, AviSynth 2.0
I've a P4 2 Ghz, 256 Mb Ram, 40 Gb hdd and win XP SP1.
I checked through the forum and tried everything but still the problem persists.

I checked the info of the AVI (Divx based) thru Gspot 2.2 and the details are :-

Video Format Codec 4cc :- DIV 3 ( DIVX 3 Low Motion)
Audio Format Codec :- 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3 ( In stats it shows 2 compatible codecs installed)
Bitrate :- 128 kb/s (64/ch x 2 ch) CBR, FS :- 44100 Hz ( In stats it shows 2 compatible codecs installed)

I checked the AVI's for any frozen / incorrect frames thru vdub-mp3. It reported some problems and then noted the frames before and after bad frames and then used avidefreezer typed in frames noted and clicked on defreeze but nothing happens the avidefreezer program closes and no file is created.

Gurus out there please help me in this it's one month since I've been trying to make svcd's.
Hope I've given complete details.

What are you using BBMPEG for? I would just use TMPEG to convert your AVI's into MPEG2 files. Then you can use Nero to burn the converted AVI's, making it into an SVCD for you.

Hi-

It looks as if he's encoding with CCE and using bbMPEG for the muxing. I don't know why bbMPEG's freezes up on you. If you've already tried to Recover a few times within AVI2SVCD, then I'd suggest doing it manually with bbMPEG and then authoring and making the Bin-Cues with VCDEasy. At least this way bbMPEG should give you an error message if it quits. Here's a guide:

http://www.doom9.org/mpg/bbmpeg.htm

My guess is that you have a few bad frames in the original .avi and CCE screwed up.

Thanks for your reply :)
I've done new installation of DVD2SVCD and left everything to default.
I used TMPGEnc and it was successful but now the audio and video are not in sync :(
I'll go thru the forum regarding this problem and rectify it.

Thanks Again

have you tried NOT converting NTSC to PAL. this could easily be the cause of your problem.

next time i would suggest posting in the dvd2svcd basic forum.
