hi and welcome to the forum
have you tried manually ripping the vob files? it somehow looks to me like a problem with the original disk, but admitedly i'm far from being an expert on this topic... perhaps somebody with greater knwonledge of D2S can chime in an help out a bit... or i'll just move it to the D2S basics forum!

Reading the log file I see that u have only 5.300mbs free and the preparing the vob files section reports an Eaccess violation while ripping the 5th vob. This could well mean that u run out of disk space.
Check this out.

to Steve, Can you show me how to manually ripping the vob files? Do you mean rip without convert?
To oddyseus: thanks for the feedback :) I've looked up the log file and also the space left on my harddrive. I have plenty of space for one movie (53 GB) not 5.3 MBs :) I believe there is some error in the log file as far as the free size on my HDD. it should be MBs instead of mbs.

what i mean is that you should rip the vob files using an external ripper. as i read in the dvd2svcd forum you should not use dvddecrypter, but rather smartripper or vstrip. the first one of these two is easier to use so i'd recommend it in this case!
just rip the vob files including the according ifo (so if the main movie is in the vob file with vts_02_x.vob, also rip vts_02_0.ifo) and then load the ifo into DVD2SVCD.
hope this helps

Steve, do you mind if i send you an email for further help? I downloaded the SmartRipper program, but i haven't ran it yet. Let's pretend i can rip these VOB files using SmartRipper, then how am i going to load the IFO into DVD2SVCD???
By the way, Does DVD2SVCD works with encrypted movie??? or do i need some software to descrypted it first???
Thank you,
p.s. Any suggestions would help a great deal ppls :)

hi
no i'd rather like to keep this help public so that other people can also benefit from it when searching the forum.
first of all here's (http://www.doom9.org/sr.htm) the guide for using smartripper!
after you've ripped the correct vob files and the ifo file, start up DVD2SVCD, go to the Conversion tab and hit the open icon next to the blank space where the path of the ifo file will be later on. alternatively you can also manually enter the ifo file path there!
" By the way, Does DVD2SVCD works with encrypted movie??? or do i need some software to descrypted it first???"
smartripper is going to decrypt the movie for you while it is copying the vob files to your hard drive!
oh and pls see my signiture, there's some very useful links to search pages both here in the forum and on doom9.org. most of your questions could have been answered by searching and reading! so i'd appreciate it if you did some reading on the very basics of DVD ripping... ;)
thanks

Here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54335&highlight=Access+violation+at+address+00498A6A/)is a thread from Basic Topics in which the same access error is discussed. The problem doesn't appear to be exactly the same as yours, but there may be some clues there for you.
Occasionally, you'll need to "authenticate" a disc before ripping. Start the disc in your player, hit the pause button, then go on about your work with DVD2SVCD.

I already tried your (Steve) suggestion but it still didnt work. I concluded it must not be the problem with original disk. Hmmmm, it's kinda hopeless at this time :) Although, any suggestions will greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi-
I concluded it must not be the problem with original disk.
I suspect that it probably is. I suggest that you use DVDDecrypter to rip the disc. It's a lot more persistant in ripping problem discs, and if it does bog down, it'll give out with an error message that you can report here.
If it does rip it successfully, you can point DVD2SVCD to the IFO and take it from there.

By using SmartRipper, i was successfully rip all of the VOB files. However, it failed at the same state once i pointed DVD2SVCD to the RIP files on HDD.

As steVe and Manono suggested, it's looking as if you may have a damaged disc. Have you ripped yet with DVDDecrypter, as suggested by Manono? Try running a search on your particular title and see if you can pick up any help from others that may have had a similar problem with it. Sometimes it works. Good luck.

Thanks you guys :) I'm greatly appreciated for your help. Unfortunately, i've returned the movie to the store. However, i still got a copy of all the VOB files in my HDD.
Isn't SmartRipper also decrypt the movie???

"Isn't SmartRipper also decrypt the movie???"

Pls read this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56064) very carefully. Everything discussed there appy to this one also.
I am sure that an intellegent person, such as u, can find the right way to remedy this situation

oddyseus, your thread was soooo very irrelevant to my question. Either, i'm not good at understanding your way of fixing the problem, or your thread isnt suit my problem. After i read its, I have no idea why you directed me to that thread??? I still don't see any solutions to my problem by reading your thread though.
Well, thanks anyway :)

i'll just say RULE 6
if you read the above mentioned thread you'll surely get the point!

Once again, rule 6 doesnt apply to me 'cuz the movie comes from Netflix. This is not exactly a illegal movie of any form nor any warez or hack...whatever we call it.

Read this Sticky, (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43617/)paying particularly close attention to both its title, and content. Re-read the thread that Oddyseus pointed out to you. You've been gently pointed to the forum rules and a good example of them in action. It's not our intention to single you out or ambush you, but it is our intention to uphold the rules of this forum. Help us to help you, and let this end here.

Anyway, this is getting us nowhere.
I am sure that khan1975 is a forgiving person. Redirecting u to that particular thread hadn't, perhaps, anything to do or help in your case but it was a good example for everyone to read and understand.
I would like to ask, very politely, everyone that wants to contribute, to do it only if he has something to add in khan's problem.

Thank you guys, :) I only wish to have my problem solved but if it doesn't then i'll be fine :)
