Best Buy has the TDK 100 pack of 4X DVD +R media for $190. If these are any good I will pick up one, but before I spend almost $200 I want to see if anyone knows how good these are.
Thanks,
Mark

I picked up 3 packs of them. They burn at 4x in my NEC1100a without any problem using Nero. Have burned about 30 so far and not a single problem. Top quality media, and the maker is Ricoh.

wow your retired? Good to see you every now and then. I'd say go for them. Bestbuy definitely has the cheapest media. They also have Memorex and Verbatim for $2/each in packs of 25 I think which are 4X DVD+R. The Sony 4X DVD+R are around $2.50/each. Blows Fry's $3.50/each prices outta the water.

I actually retired a month ago, but there was a short delay in removing my Mod status.
I am working way too much now and have no time anymore. It is sort of poetic justice for not working for two years. In addition to 9 hour working days I drive 70 miles each way to work, but it is the second highest paying job I have ever had and considering this economy I am just happy to have a job even if it is so far away.
BTW I just saw over at that other place that we both hang out that Fuji +R 50 packs will be $75 next week at Best Buy. They are only 2.4X, but are $0.40 less each disc then the TDK. Since this is a special and the TDK is regular price I might just save some money and go with them. I haven't had a single coaster yet with Fuji media and when I burn I go watch TV or go to bed so 2.4 or 4 doesn't matter much to me.

What them? The 4X TDK or the 2.4X Fuji?
When it comes to DVD media brand and speed make a difference both in terms of cost and quality.
[edit] Found it in the Add. It's the TDK discs. Now just to find out if they are 2.4X or 4X. If they are 2.4X I won't pick up a bunch(1 or 2 maybe), but if they are 4X I will get at least 100.

The TDK dvd-r are 2x and the dvd+r are 4x. I bought 5 packs (total 100) of the dvd-r There were two different cake boxes. One was an older one that said "made in Japan" and a new one that said "made in Taiwan" for about $1.50 each, that's not a bad deal. Riteks are $1.25 at Rima now. Good luck
p.s. checked out compusa prices $19.99 for a 5 pack after rebates. Target has the best price on TDKs right now. In fact, it's the best price I've ever seen. I wonder if they're trying to clear out the 2x for the 4x inventory for the dvd-r

Thanks for the heads up on the 4X TDK +R discs at Target. Went today and found them no problem. I bought 60 of them for $1.50 a disc and no rebate hassle. Much better then the $1.90 a disc I found at Best Buy for the same discs in a 100 pack.
For those interested they are made by Ricoh.
Here is the first two lines of the physical info from ADVDInfo.
