I have a 4x DVD burner but nero will only let me choose 2x, i am using the latest version 5.5.10.3.5 or whatever it is. any suggestions on how to fix?

I prefer ImgTool from CouJo. Its free :).

Does Nero allow you to choose 4x and then burn only 2x or it refuses to even set 4x burning speed? I don´t use Nero for DVD burning, but there could be error in media. Is your DVDR medium really 4x (with CD-R Nero detects max burning speed and doesn´t allow you to set higher one)?

Are you using 4X certified media? The drive reads the header info and sets the MAX burn speed by that.
