please help me with making dvd-r from this avi.

Maybe you guys can give me some tips. I have spent days trying to backup this AVI file onto a DVD-R. It is in this format....
23.976 fps
x:y - 576x304 (1.895:1) [~15:8]
4cc code = xvid
decompressor - xvid mpeg4-codec
type - OpenDML AVI

audio
48000 mhz
2 channels
audio - 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3
bitrate - 136 kb/s (68/ch x 2 ch) VBR LAME3.92

I tried using cce, following guides, gordion knot.

Please help me out.

A few more infos would be nice!
For example:

* What exactly did you do?

* What errors did occure?

* What problems did you face?

I use the virtual dub to extract out a short clip of the move, as is, not encoding...so I choose the direct stream copy for both audio and video. then I use the cce (I tried every combination) to try to get rid of this error I see in maestro which is illegal resolution for dvd. the move is signs.avi and it is xvid.

Did anybody conver this to dvd-r?
