Hi all
A grandad with L Plates here. First conversion!!
I've got an AVI movie on 2 cdz -48 mins and 73 mins each. When I convert them to SVCD will I need to split them?
Is there a table which I can use that shows you sizes and where to split etc so that the max capacity of the disc is being used??

Hello, and welcome to the forum:
www.doom9.org/mpg/dvd2svcd-avi.htm
This is the AVI2SVCD Guide and is what you're looking for. Take your time, walk through the steps, and you should be OK. I've heard of grandchildren, but what the heck are L Plates? ;) Good luck.

hi and also welcome to the forum,
merge the two avi files into one if it is possible, then feed it to AVI2SVCD... it will split the file for you automatically (:(and also do all the rest of the work except burning to CD) :D

PS: also interested what you are meaning with L plates

One possible guess, a UK-only term, apparently:
L plates n :
learner plate, large white sign with big red letter L attached to rear (and front) of student driver’s car.
I found it at http://cgi.peak.org/~jeremy/retort.cgi?British=L%20plates. For additional info, see www.l-plates.net.
