View Full Version : matroska files takes an hour to open in vdubmod

so i fought my way and made my first matroska-file with aac!
when i wanted to open it in vdubmod it started parsing the file and has not stopped for about an hour now. ok, it grabs the file over a trafficed network, but that takes to long to simply open a file, i think.
also i noticed when playing the file in zoomplayer it took about 30 seconds until it started playing.
any hints?

You're using that buggy offical VdubMod 15.1.1a. Download latest cvs build or use mkvmerge.

i did use the mentioned vdubmod version, but changing to the cvs didn't fix that behaviour. also i used mkvmerge.
further ideas? do matroskas open quick with you?

Can you please check if the same behaviour is occuring with a mkv file with MP3 audio of same size ? What happens if the file is on the same HDD, so it does not load over network ?

ok, so could check that already. it takes about 1minute to open with mp3 instead of ac3.
EDIT: looks like something went wrong, wich i didn't notice and the file was only 200mb? strange, because i muxed it in vdubmod using 1.2gb video and 200mb audio (approx).
so i will have to wait till tomorrow wo test any further, cause it is late..
