I set up a new machine recently, a P4 2.8GHz (800MHz fsb, with Hyperthreading enabled), Abit IC7, 1GB Corsair PC3200 ram, Western Digital Raptor HD, etc. I installed Avisynth(with Mpeg2dec3/decomb/simpleresize plugins), VDubMod, Xmpeg4.5, Divx5.05, the usual encoding tools. Same tools that worked great on my last system. Only on this system, any time I try to decode an mpeg2 file(SVCD->Divx conversion), it crashes out of either Xmpeg or VdubMod+Avisynth anywhere from 10 to 50% of the way through. With Xmpeg I just get a basic windows error, VDubMod gives me an access violation. These tools work fine with Mpeg1(VCD) material, but Mpeg2 is just giving them fits. Anyone know why this might be happening?
