I didn't know any better forum to post this to, but here goes:

Both Avimux-GUI and VirtualDub claim they create OpenDML files, but AVI files created by avimux-gui cannot display the properties/summary page and the ones created with vdub can. Furthermore, GSpot 2.2 identifies vdub created avis as OpenDML and the only kinds of summary-displaying avimux-gui created avis as standard AVI.
Can anyone offer an explanation for this?

This is only a guess but perhaps avimux only creates ODML when its needed and vdub always creates them.

Nope, avis created by avimux only display summary when I create legacy(non-ODML) avis with it. GSpot confirms this.

VDub creates Open-DML when necessary, but always includes the legacy index.

What happens if you create Open-DML with legacy index in AVI-Mux GUI? Which version did you use?

I get the correct output in GSpot:
"OpenDML AVI, "rec list" style"

Nothing changes - no summary. Try it yourself if you don't believe.

The newest version(v1.14) but I tried with v1.13 too.

The problem is that I get the summery (I hope we speak about the same summery...)
