skipping titlesets?

Hello everybody!
just a question for wise people who post here. I'm trying to backup a couple of PAL R2 Walt Disney DVD's. Now these DVD's are a pain in the neck, as they make you swallow 5+ trailers of other movies before you're lead to the main menu. In my backups I want to avoid these trailers, and I know how to do that following the (nice!) guide by 2COOL. But these guides tell you how to bypass the titleset. Let's put an exemple: upon insertion the player jumps to titleset 2 (=main Disney logo), then to titleset 3 (=all the damn trailers) and then to titleset 5 (=main menu). using the techniques explained in the guides, you modify the DVD such that once it reaches the unwanted title 8titleset 3 in this exemple) it doesn't play it and jumps to the next title (number 5 in this case). But as you see, the player goes to title 2, then to 3 and finally to 5. My question is, is there a way to make the dvd jump right from titleset 2 to titleset 5, without passing through title 3?

So, what you really want to do? ;)

1. If you want to strip out Title 3 completely then the DVD structure becomes messed up and playability is not good.

2. You can strip out Title 3 .VOB but keep the .IFO and .BUF then it may work OK (you'll get warning from Nero).

3. You will keep all Title 3 files, but no reference to it? then you may need to go thru some of the .IFO files in IFOedit to change all reference of Title 3 to Title 5 (or to other Title #)

There is a way:

you open the vts2´s ifo in IFOedit, go to the last PGC
and search for command like "jump(xx) vts3" and change the
value to "5" and that was the trick

the command may be elswhere (it´s remote-diagnostics i´m doing here :D )
but it sure exists and it sure can be changed

I think is more complicated than this, or at least the info you gave is incomplete. I'm not a master in DVD programming, so I'm not really sure about what I'm saying, but I know there are IFOs where there's no simple 'jump(xx) vts3' token... there are structures like
(CallSS VTSM) Call TitleSet root-menu (Resume Cell:1)
which does make the pointer jump without writting 'jump' explicitely... That's why I was asking. If it was so simple, I wouldn't have posted the question in the first place :D

What I'm saying is that sometimes there is no 'Jump(xx) vts03' (or at least I can't find it) so there is no way to chenge it. How could I try something that it is not there?

may I ask what do you REALLY want?

when I write "like "jump(xx) vts3"" I mean it also can be
"(jumpVTS_TT)jump to vts3", important part is the "3", I thought
you would get it, but if this here is not good enough for you,

I have been very preoccupied for with personal stuff for the past weeks and haven't been too active for a while. I'm starting to get back into this hobby again.

According to your first post, your navigations are like this upon insert: Title 2 --> Title 3 --> Title 5 (main menu)

Now is Title 3 residing in Titleset 3, according to your Titleset Playmap in VIDEO_TS.IFO / VMG Overview? If Title 3 is your unwanted Title, use this guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50245) to bypass it's video segments play. Do this for all PGCs that need to be disabled for playback. Your Titleset 3 may have a PGC for each trailer. If you save and play it DVD again, it should display Title 2 --> maybe a brief blank or no segment --> Main menu.

This is what you want right? No trailers playing?

Yeah I want all trailers to go away (this is one of those Walt Disney's dvds where the movie takes 1 hour and the advertaising 1h30m :( ). And yes, I've followed already your (once again unbeatable) guide and succeded. However I was asking for more a theoretical problem than a practical one. With trailers in title 3, and the sequence on the original dvd

Title 2 --> Title 3 --> Title 5

However, what I would like to do (if possible) is to completely remove any reference to title 3 and make the navigation structure go like

Seeing how each title you mentioned resides in its own titleset...jumping from a title to another title, you must go through a PGC-Menu_# in your VIDEO_TS.IFO / VMGM_PGCI_UT inbetween each.

Go through each one finding traces of jumping to Title 3 and edit that to jump to Title 5. Have you tried doing this?
