View Full Version : Video Glitches after authoring

HI All,

I've searched for this, but so far have been unable to find an answer for it. After I encode my mpv file and author it, I get glitches showing up the video. It looks like trash that momentarily gets in the video stream. When I check the encoded .mpv file it isn't there, it only seems to show up after I've created the .VOB files.

If anyone could help I'd appreciate it. I have used CCE and TMPGenc, and DVDLab and IFOedit to create the DVDs, all combinations still yield the same glitches.

My system is:

AMD 2400+
NForce2 chipset
ATI 9700 pro video
SBLive sound card
SIIG firewire card
SIIG IDE controller card
Pyro A/V link

Thanks,

Yoyo

Does this happen on chapter change or is it random?

The glitches are random. If I re-author the DVD, the glitches show up in different places in the video.

Thanks

Rendering the title set of a dvd means that all the data r muxed together and re-written to the hd.

Do u compile in the same disk as the source? On a older model maybe there isn't enough bandwidth for such activity.

Have u checked the hard disk for errors, is it defraged?

I have 3 hard drives. One for the OS, one for capturing and one for the final videos. I was compiling the video from the capture drive to the dvd drive. Just as a test, I redid the authoring to the OS drive to see if the errors showed up, and they did. Same problem as before. I have scanned the drives recently and defragged( the capture and video drives get emptied and reused all the time).

The Drives are all pretty new, 2 ATA100 and 1 ATA133. Each is on it's own controller.

Thanks

U have recent drives on their own contoller that they have been checked and verified recently. I think we can rule out drive fault for now.

Does a friend of yours is willing to offer 5gb of space so that u can check the appearance or not of the glitches in his system. U may use ifoedit and not install anything in his system. Your files can be carried over on a dvd-rw. By moving away of your pc would help to rule out power problems.

I have an extra system at home, I'll try using that tonight when I get home to see if it still happens on another computer.

Thanks
