Hi, I've been playing around with some first divx3 encoding attempts only to fail. I've tried using the latest version of GKnot and even tried DVX because I couldn't solve the following problem...
When I attempt to encode a movie with mp3 audio (I haven't tried with the 6channel larger audio stream) Gknot will run for a couple hours encoding the video, but then I believe when It starts to add the audio I receive this error:
VirtualDub Error:
The function SetMode was called on a stream[?] that hasn't been previously initialized with SetSource.
This happens while virtualdubmod is running.
Upon searching this board and the virtualdub boards the only other person I saw running into this error had foreign characters in the audio steam path name. This is not the issue in my case as I've even tried placing the stream in the root directory and giving it a very short name.
In the end I get my divx .avi with no sound. I used nandub to mux the audio stream manually but the sound becomes out of synch by the end of the film when I do this (which might be another issue entirely)
I post here because this board seems to be a bit more active than the virtualdub boards. I really have no idea what could be causing this problem as the exact same thing happens on two of my very different computers. Except that both are running windows XP.
Anyhow, just thought I'd toss this out there incase someone has had this same problem and fixed it.
Thanks, jared
