Hi
I'm looking for the best low-noise CPU fan for my AMD XP 2000+.
I currently have a Volcano 9, with the sensor sticked on the base of the heat-sync. I have 3 80mm fans, 2 in front, and 1 behond the case. I also have a "turbine" (PCI slot) on top on my AGP port.
Yours suggestions are welcome :)

Try the vantec aeroflow VA4-C7040 -- very quiet and exceptional cooling. Just bought one the other day and have been very happy with it.

Really? What if you ordered it online -- they won't ship to canada? I got mine from crazy pc (http://www.crazypc.com/products/cooling/cpu/cpu.htm)

I think my choise would be this:
Tt Silent Viking DP
- Designed for: AMD Socket 462/A Duron, Athlon, AthlonXP, AthlonMP & Intel Socket 7, Socket 370
- Bergquist 225U or T905C interface material
- Metal clip easy to installed
- Heat sink 70x68 mm & 78 mm tall
- Embedded temp. sensor & Fan speed control setting at 25°C 2900 rpm , at 35°C 5000 RPM
Costs around 40 bucks here.
Cheers

Spire Whisper Rock and a 12->5v adapter will cost you something like 30CAD (a few dollars more if you chose a variable voltage adapter) and works just as fine as the more expensive ripoffs.

Most silent (& probably quite expensive): Verax coolers ... http://www.verax.de/verax.php?template=home&lang=en - no idea about availability in Canada, either.
