View Full Version : Problems adding a chapter in IfoEdit

I am trying to add a chapter to a PGC in IfoEdit, but I am having some trouble getting it to work properly. I was hoping someone with more experience than me would know how to do this:

Okay, I'll try to give all the relevant details on what I'm doing. Right now, I have a movie with a seperate VTS for the deleted scenes. There titles are as follows:

Titles 1-8: Play each of the scenes individually
Title 9: Plays hidden "easter egg" scene
Titles 10-11: Play All scenes 1-8 in seperate chapters.

I want to add a chapter to the "Play All" titles so that they play the hidden title (number 9) as well. I have tried adding a chapter in PTT_SRPTI and changing the PGC to add an extra program and an extra cell for the hidden title.

I then updated the info for those cells to have the correct playback time, entry points, VOB IDs, etc. This is all in PGC 10 only.

THE PROBLEM: when I save it, IfoEdit assigns random high (like in the hundreds) vob and cell ids to the first several programs in PGC 10 and shortens PGC 11 to have only one cell. When I go back and fix the cell IDs and save, IfoEdit assigns invalid times and entry points to my added cells for the hidden title in PGC 10. So either way, it's not quite right.

I feel like I need to set some flag somewhere to get this to work, but I don't know what to do.

Help is greatly appreciated!

I suggest you to separately rip title 9 and titles 10-11. Then join them in this order: 10 - 11 - 9 with VOBEdit. Follow this guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58282) to have a title with 9 chapters.

It's not IfoEdit's fault - really. Have a look toward the end of this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58055) for how to deal with VTS_SRPT

I know, I just based the guide I linked above on that thread!!! (and I also thanked you in it of course...)

Just adding the background info, in case surreal120 (like you) wanted to know what happened, and why.

It's OK, sorry for having misunderstood your post :o
BTW, what do you think about my guide?

The guide seems right, but I must confess, I was only involved in the last part (turning one title into 2 or more). And it was mostly theoretical (Dave did test it, though). These days I don't even have time to watch a DVD, let alone compile or reauthor one (back to coding mpu's and CPLD's for, of all things, model railroading - they actually make a computer small enough to put inside an N scale locomotive!).
