View Full Version : Layer Breaks DVDShrink

I used version 2.1 for the first time yesterday and I'm impressed. I'm only a novice when it comes to this so forgive me if it can't be done: nearly all DVDs have a layer break at one point in the movie. With version 2.1 I noticed that the video paused for a brief moment then continued (as it would if it were really changing layers). Can the layer break (and the subsequent pause) be removed or is it necessary to maintain the DVD structure? IFOEdit will remove it so I know it can be done but I've only tried it on a "movie only" backup, never on the entire disk.
Keep up the great work!

just reminding you that version 2.2 is out and it fixes a fast forward/rewinding bug in the 2.1 version

what we really want to know is if the layer break has been removed, or will be removed in the future? Problem is that on all three of my dvd players the layerbreak bit causes a pause in the video, and on one of my players it resets the "zoom" setting at the layer break (very annoying).
Don't get me wrong, I think dvdshrink is a great program, but this one issue is keeping me from giving it a 100 percent score (it's at 99.9 right now):)

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. It would be great if it would automatically remove the false layer break.
