Hi guys,

I tried using CCE and the big 3 for the first time, following this guide (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ra-guide.htm )

But the encoding in DoCCE4U took 23 hrs !!! Isnt that a bit long?
(PAL version of Vin Diesels xXx on a Athlon 1.2Ghz with 512MB RAM)

Am i doing something wrong. Or is that normal on a 1.2G machine?

The only bit of the guide that had me confused was the whole "PAL interlacing". So for this particular backup, i didnt change any of the settings.

1) Is it sposed to be so painfully slow?

2) Are there any alternative and simple guides maybe?

Thanks

Well, I have an Athlon 1.1GHz and I get ~0.8RT when encoding PAL in CCE. This means that xXx (124min on the PAL-DVD according to IMdB (http://us.imdb.com/DVD?0295701)) would take 124/0.8=155minutes/pass. 3passes=>7h45m.

So unless you have a lot of extras and/or run many passes it does sound quite a lot. What RT values do you get? Also check the .avs file. Does it contain anything in particular except the addaudio?
