How to pick up after a broken encode?

Power went out during an encode. Mpeg2 format. I brought what was already encoded back into Tmpeg,went to Source range And lastframe shows to be 130367. The log shows this to be an I frame with a full complement of PB frames after it.
The question is, where to I start re-encoding? 130367? or the next logical I frame 130380? (why so logical?) log file shows it actually encoded all the way to 130406 as the last I frame. I Figured the unexpected reboot broke it. The point is, source range shows 130367 as last frame, log file shows 130380 as the start of the next GOP.
Where do I start?

Best to start from beginning again because splicing the two fragments is a little risky too.

Well then, my ups is about to fail, 70% through a SVCD encode too. :(
Would there be no way to clip back to a safe point and then join the segments together?

Or would that also be unsafe?

Just use the "Source Range" feature! Take a look at the frames, ... what is the last frame in the file?

Then load the files again and choose in Source Range the last frame in your file. Then encode it and you'll get the 2nd file. Merge it and you'll get one file.

Oh and don't wory, you won't see the cut!

...but you might hear a loud sound distortion where the video merged.

unless newer versions stop doing that.

So START at the last frame or start at the missing frame?
example:
encode stopped at 110603(last visible frame)
Do I really start the new encode at 110603 or do I start at 110604?

I ended up doing the movie over, but how to fix a broken encode would be good info for future reference.

start at the next frame(110604) after the last frame; i don't think it really matters if your start on the last frame or next, because you might not even notice it, unless you where looking for it.

I would recommend starting some 100 frames before (creating an overlap) and then cut both mpegs at a scene change within the overlap.

Yep! Do alike this because is a good metod!
I cut the filme where are no sound in it...You can see this em Tmpgenc...
