Even on the highest priority, Vdub and Vdubmod uses only 30% of my cpu. (i have dual 2.8ghz xeons w/ HT) so the only way to fully maximize my computer's hardware is to encode 4 videos at once, this is fine, except when i just want to get one videodone quickly. Is there any mod of virtualdub which is optimized for dual processors, or, i noticed in virtualdubmod, there was an option for encoding a video on a network, is there any way to make a virtual network so that it will split the video in four parts and then encode each of them at the same time? Thank everyone so much for their help :-D

If I remember correctly, vdub already multithreads as good as possible, so the only way would be to encode the movie in two parts :)
VDubMod once had net distributed encoding, but noone of the devels actually understood how it works (it was grabbed from a separate modded vdub), so in introduced a lot of bugs and nerver worked reliably, especially it was never desinged to do two pass encodes. If we find a knowledgable devel who will redevelop it, it will be back but we rather dont have it than have a sh*tload of bugreports 'cause it either breaks other things or doesnt cooperate with some other part of vdubmod.

i was wrong, it was 4 tmpegs i could open up, 4 virtual dubs still only uses 30%, i think it might be because i didnt copy the exe to make 4 different programs.
well, this sux, o well
