Instant Copy Corruptions?

I have used Instant Copy to make backups of a few of my DVD's now and I seem to be getting a few error's. I rip the DVD with DVD Decryptor then use IC to reduce the size of it, doing a custom resize to DVD. I then use PDITOOL to extract the pdi files and burn the VIDEO_TS folder using Nero/DVD-Video.

Every thing works fine until I press write in Nero and I get a error saying DVD-Video File Relocation Failed, if I then open up my DVD in IFOEdit and click get VTS Sectors then burn in nero and I dont get any errors.

I seem to be getting this error on more and more of the backups I make any idea's why? I am using the latest version of IC, setup 0053.

IFOEdit - Get VTS sectors fixes this, IFOEdit says:

Corrected Sector Address in Table [VMGI_MAT]:
Start Sector of VMGM_VOBS: [old8:] [new:0] (VIDEO_TS.VOB)

I have had this error once and the IFOedit VTS thing does not fix it, the DVD plays back fine on the PC but fails to start on my player until I manually go to the Menu's or something???

Use pdi2iso (much faster anyway) and burn the .iso - works every time.

DVD Decrypter 3.16, burns directly from PDIs, and the DVD-Rs thus produced, for some strange reason, are MORE compatible with various standalones, than when using IC7's own burning engine.

I dont like using PDI2ISO as I like to test the DVD after its been through IC and for some reason when I am playing DVD ISO's with Daemon Tools my DVD's dont play correctly.

I dont have any compatability problems once I have corrected the error's in Nero, I have not tried any without correcting the errors first.

I'm just curious as to why IC keeps doing this and what the consequences of these errors are?

There are no consequences since Nero is catching the non-compliant VTS sector error and not burning. Prassi and Record Now max also barf on this error. If you say that Get VTS Sector always works, then always remember to do this before burning. As to why this happens, and occasionally does not happen, who knows? It may have to do with the presence and complexity of the VIDEO_TS.VOB file, and whether IC moved some of its functionality into VTS_01_0.VOB.

DVD burning is like black magic. There have been many cases where I have put extra files into the VIDEO_TS directory, added a few new subdirectories, placed files into the root, burned everything, and gotten a perfectly playable dvd. The successful burning programs know where to put everything on the physical disc, and also do a modest amount of error checking to catch pointer errors in the ifo files.

Thanks for your response, wanted to be sure it was nothing I was doing and I was fixing it the best way possible.

The one error I can fix with Get VTS Sectors is this one though:

"One or more files (mostly VOB file(s)) do not belong to the corresponding IFO file"

Any idea's on how I could fix that? The DVD is Red Dragon (R2) and I ran it through IC, the DVD plays in most of my players put on some it does not start automatically and I have to select the menu manually from the dvd remote but then it works fine!
