View Full Version : Split Movie -> Back to 1 - Ifo Problems

I've been working for awhile trying to merge back a movie that was once split using IfoEdit back to 1 with working menu.

I'm so close to having it all working properly but just can't get over a couple little issues. I joined the VOB's, made a new Ifo from them to get all the chapter points. Re-encoded and reauthored using the new chapter points. I have a VIDEO_TS.VOB and a VTS_01_0.VOB, I copied these over to the newly authored folder, copied the original VIDEO_TS.IFO + BUP to the folder as well. Now I must work on the VTS_01_0.IFO file..

I loaded it into IfoEdit and selected Merge Menu Tables and selected the Ifo file from the first split disc, this copied all the table info in, hit Get VTS sectors, no problems, corrected a couple things. Hit DVD Play, menu comes up and seems to work perfect, but any attempt to play the movie (from selecting Play or from the chapter menu), it goes to start playing it (an FBI warning comes up, VIDEO_TS.VOB) then falls back to the originating menu.. so can't play the movie at all!

So great, I decided to do some playing, I copied the Ifo file over from the 1st split disc and plopped that in the folder (over writing the one I just messed with). Get VTS sectors, corrections, DVD Play, presto menu works, can play the movie! But chapter points are obviously off and the 2nd half of them missing..

Now I don't mind doing some time consuming tedious typing, is there any way I can fix this chaptering issue up manually? IfoUpdate doesn't work as it says the PGC area isn't big enough, I'm assuming because of the lack of chapters compared to the authored IFO..

How about in my first attempt, obviously a IfoUpdate won't help, what and where can I look to find out why the menu won't play the movie?

I realize I'm gonna have to do this all by hand which will take awhile, but I don't mind... any suggestions?

Bump, anyone have any ideas?

I'm leaning towards the second option of taking the original IFO file and editing in all the extra chapter points.. but not experienced in doing this. Can anyone help out?

In the first option, what could have gone wrong in the Ifo where it won't play the movie?
