I've downloaded this divx imax movie and the sound is about 20sec out of synch, so I'm trying to fix it.
the problem is the audio starts about 20sec too late, so I thought I'd just cut the start of the video to make it match, but I can't cut the video close enough (using virtualdub), im still around 4 sec out.
do i need to redo the keyframes (to 1 every second) so I can cut the video where I want? or is there an easier way.
if I do have to redo the keyframing what program do I use?

thanks.

Miles

p.s. I've already demuxed the audio and will just remux it when the video is the same. I've also thought of putting blank audio in front of the existing audio to fill the 20 seconds, but the original audio is ac3 and I don't a program that will edit ac3, so I guess if someone can tell me of something, that would help too.

cheers.

You are not allowed to discuss downloaded or otherwise illegally obtained movies here, read the rules!
You can use Nandub or Virtualdubmod, just specify a delay in the "interleaving"-tab of the audio-menu...
Cutting your video wouldn't get you anywhere, because it would still be out of sync, just with the beginning missing... (It would only work if you would demultiplex, cut, and multiplex again).

You can use ac3 delay corrector to correct the delay of an ac3 (the name indicates it somehow, doesn't it :D ), or BeSweet with the -payload parameter (which will process the ac3 losslessly)...

But asserting the delay with nandub while re-muxing should be sufficient in your case...

For changing the keyframe-distribution you have to reencode...
You could do this with virtualdub, you could even just reencode the first few seconds...
But it's not necessary.
