Hi,

is there a file size limit inherent to the xcd filters which would, for example, prevent one from using mode2form for files larger than say 1 GB? This question is interesting in relation to Plextor's new Gigarec feature and Sanyo's HD-Burn.

there's a limitation but it's limited to (2^64)/2, which is WAY bigger than 1G.

@avih

Any idea then why XCD does not seem to work with Gigarec?

i have no idea, but there's a thread about it in this forum: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54431. iirc, gigarec has some more errors than standard cd.

If I'm right that's 1,073,741,824.000(One Billion seventy three millions...) Gigas (thats right Gigabytes Not megas not gigabits but Gigabytes)

So we shouldnt worry much about space in that filesystem...

oops, i've made a BIG mistake... it's (2^64)/2-1 ;) (that's signed int64)
