every time i encode a xvid to dvd (mainconcept encoder) or play it back, i get a picture freeze at about 80% of the movie, but the audio continues to play.
does this have to do with the frame rate of xvid? 100 / 29,97 * 23,97 = 79,9797...
is this a xvid bug and how can it be resolved?
thx for answers.

Hi and welcome to the forum-
does this have to do with the frame rate of xvid?
No, it's not an XviD problem at all. Most NTSC .avis, no matter which codec was used to encode, are at 23.976fps. The problem is somehow related to your conversion of it to DVD. Your post was a little unclear but my guess is that you didn't perform pulldown to return it to the DVD spec of 29.97fps, because 23.976/29.97=.8. But I don't make DVDs, and maybe someone else with experience using MainConcept can pinpoint the problem. You might have better luck getting the answer down in the DVD Authoring Forum.
