How do I turn off bidirectional encoding with DivX Pro 5.0.5 (gain version)? I want to backup Swimfan Widescreen to 2 CDs but the file size maxes out at around 1GB. I want to get upto 1.4GB so it will fit perfectly on 2 CDs. I read this link (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24584&highlight=maxed+out) and it advises to turn off b-frames.

Thanks guys ;)

I assume, based on your prior posts, that you are using Gknot. To make a permanent change you can use the First Pass / Nth Pass / Credits buttons on the Options tab. For a "temporary" change you can click on the First Pass / Nth Pass / Credits buttons on the DivX 5 tab of the encoder window (pops up when you Save & Encode from the filter options window).

In all cases, this brings up the DivX encoder settings GUI. B-frames are on the "Profiles" tab, in the MPEG4 Tools section in the bottom right. For manual control, clear the "Choose your profile" box.

I hope this helped.
