Permanent Subtitles on AVI file

Anybody can tell me how can I put permanent subtitles on a avi file (divx and xvid).

Have you looked to the Guides here on doom9.org?

You need VobSub and VirtualDub or AVISynth.

Thanks your tip worked I think I found a way, I'm using virtualdub togethor with textsub (vobsub) to recompress the avi with permanent subtitles it seems to be working fine.
