Just a quick idea. I have been lent a machine which is windows 98SE. It's running FAT32 filesystem so I've got a 4GB filesize limit. My current method of encoding will not work because I demux out a m2v and ac3 file for the whole movie and load these these two files into vdubmod.
I can't upgrade the machine to XP ( NTFS ).
I was thinking about ripping the DVD by cellid/chapter/vob. Each section has it's own m2v file and ac3 ( with DELAY in the filename ). I then encode each section in vdubmod to divx+mp3 and join them all together to form a final avi.
What do you think - has anyone tried this ? am I heading for a world of lip-sync pain ?
