View Full Version : Prepare for encoding one day and do the encoding the next?

I'm using the big three as described in the ReAuthorist guide. Doing the preparation before encoding can take a couple of hours, so I'd like to do this in the evening. After I have pressed Encode in ReAuthorist, so that DoCCE4U starts and the programs are added, and I do some final changes, can I then close ReAuthorist and DoCCE4U, turn of the computer, and be able to continue the next morning? If I start DoCCE4U again, the project files will still be there, but has it lost any of the context, or can I just press play, close it when it finishes, start ReAuthorist, and press Author It?

Yes. Just start up DoCCE4U and if your jobs are not still there for any reason then just FILE --> LOAD FILE LIST and select the ReAuthorist_DoCCE.txt file from your working folder and press GO.
This way you can prepare more than one project if you want and load them all up in DoCCE4U and let it run for a few days :)
Don't forget to press "AUTHOR IT" in RA before closing it to get your Scenarist script file.
Cheers...

Provided you've got the HDD space :p
I have a similar scheduele;
1) Run DoItFast4U during the evening
2) Set RA up, and set to encode overnight
3) Press the Authour it button and import into Scenarist when I first get up.
4) Set Scenarist to author as I leave for work.
5) Test in PowerDVD during my lunch break. If all is good, set IMGtools to create ISO.
6) Burn ISO to DVD-RW with DVD Decrypter and test on set top when I get home from work. If all ok, burn ISO to DVD-R.
7) Repeat :cool:

I normaly press AUTHOR IT just before pressing ENCODE IT and then close RA altogether once DoCCE4U is running. I figure the AUTHOR IT button "only" creates the Scenarist script file and it makes no difference if you do that before or after encoding.
I've not had any issues doing it this way but just wondered if you guys had any thoughts as to the "correctness" or otherwise...
