.bin too large with 1.1.3 build 2

I know this has been a constant problem for some but it has just cropped up for me. I always use the default settings to do my conversions and they have never let my down before, until now. I now get .bins that range from 845meg to as high as 936meg, with the defaul settings in bitrate.

It looks to me like it should have created right size files but it didn't. What am I missing. I have four backups I need to get burned.

Tried another but I won't post the log. CD size was 740, cut point was 735. Bin made was 865.

I have the exact same problem, but only with certain movies.
The one bugging me now is a Cartoon, if it makes any difference?
*.bin file is 936 MB, movie is 75 min. Even if I set the bitrate tab to use two disks, it always makes only one at 936 MB.
Any good ideas?

for your "845"'s are you sure they are 845MB or are they 845,000,000 bytes? 845,000,000 bytes is actually about 806MB which will burn fine.

about the 900+ MB i would need to see a log file to see if some setting got messed up.

I have the issue with length with TMPG. With CBR mode it makes bbMpeg... file bigger that expected and finally cutts off the rest.
I sipmly get rid off TMPG and use CCE. In your case negative "Video PAPO" value seems to me very strange. I have never seen it in my practice (only positive). Look at that value in other DVDs you have or will convert(ed).

hoozdapimp, I had tried the .bins in CDRWin and they say they are like 80min and 20-30sec long so I did not try to burn them. I tried an experiment. I uninstalled 1.1.3b2 and then installed 1.1.0c, which I never had any problems with. I have 4 different films with the size problems on my hdd's. I screwed up the first one by deleting everything but the .ifo and .vbo's so there was no way to re-do that one. I then tried leaving everything in the folder and recovery option starting at "Pull-down". End result was 3 .bins the correct size. I then did the same on the remaing two but did ended up with 2 .bins at 825,*** and 1.bin at 2,***, on each film. Every setting in D2S is install defaults. I haven't tried checking the 2nd or 3rd to see what they are. Could it be since I left all the files in the .dir that they are left from the 1st encode? I probably should just start over but this has become kinda like a quest to get it right.

If I play the Muxed_File00.mpg file in Media player, it says correct 1h 17 min.

Could you list here the content of your "Movie" folder with the length of each file (especially Muxed_File00.mpg ). Seems that you have wrong settings for bbMpeg. Open bbMpeg output settings tab and double click at SVCD.

Again, If I play the muxed file in Media player, it looks OK
and the lenght is set to 1H 17M.

Another movie (actually with the same lenght) went OK converting.

It is simply awfull! Look, the length of bbMpegmuxedfile00.mpg is 50% bigger than Encoded_video_CCE_PAL.mpv. So, for sure it is an error while muxing. First, open bbMpeg output sttings and double click SVCD there. Second, try to reencode it with "Add resample audio" field checked. Third, it is interesting that muxing process has taken too much time (18 min). Could you publish all log files (txt, log, ini etc.)?

Hi eugen,

I have now solved my problem, or more correct to say: I found a workaround to my problem.
I opened the avi fil in Virtualdub, set video and audio to "direct streaming" - saved the file as a new avi, and then the conversion with Dvd2SVCD went OK.
It is so strange.
