View Full Version : IfoEdit reports problems with DVDShrink 2.0's file structure

I just tried out DVDShrink 2.0 for the first time this weekend, and though it seemed to work incredibly well, I found that IfoEdit reported some errors. I am in the habit of opening all of the Ifo's in my "finished" rips using IfoEdit and then hitting the "region free" button and "Remove P-UPs" button, as well as running "get VTS sectors" as a final cleanup. When I go to save the Ifo of the movie set, I get the following errors:
"There's something wrong!
The file position does not match the offset for table ID_VTS_C_ADT"
"There's something wrong!
The file position does not match the offset for table ID_VTS_VOBU_ADMAP"
"There's something wrong!
The IFO Endsector does not match the file size"
And then of course it repeats the same errors for the BUP. What are these errors, how do I get rid of them, and should I be concerned? I get the impression that DVDShrink is not ending gracefully. :)

Thank you snidely
Been searching all today and previous weeks to find a way to play the few disks that just would not play off my HD, because of region related errors. What you suggested worked!!!... Except I did not run "get VTS sectors" or "remove p-ups" before saving the ifo and did not get any of the errors you encountered. Both movies were done in Shrink v2.0 but I had the same issues with other ripped movies done in dvddecryptor and smartripper. They all seem to come from the same movie studios.
Just running "region free" in IfoEdit v0.094 worked for me.
Hope your problems get resolved.
Thanks again

papillon, I'm glad that you now have some previously unusable rips. :)
Except I did not run "get VTS sectors" or "remove p-ups" before saving the ifo and did not get any of the errors you encountered.
You did it correctly if you just want to remove region coding. The order to do everything is:
Open 1st Ifo
Hit "Region free"
Hit "Remove P-UPs"
Save
Open 2nd Ifo
Hit "Region free"
Hit "Remove P-UPs"
save <----This is where the errors occurred.
and so on, if there are more Ifos in the set.
When done, then hit "Get VTS sectors" - All Ifos will automatically be saved. This has worked fine for years with any programs I have used. DVDShrink 2.0 is the first program that I have run across that produced these errors. Maybe this is a bug in 2.0?

Am I the only one who has run into this problem? Has anyone else checked to see if they are having the same problem? Or am I just going crazy? :)

DVD Shrink has problems with files generated by ifoedit, and ifoedit has problems with the output from dvd shrink.
So at least it's mutual!
I think the problem is, that one of us is misunderstanding the usage of the various sector offsets to VOB and VTS files within the navigation structure. I'm pretty sure that my offsets are correct, but hell, I might be wrong ;-)

Thanks, dvdshrink!
As long as you give me the word that the structure is ok, then that is good enough for me. :)
BTW, I love your program!
